Future Plans
Dear Diary,
Well, I must start by saying I feel different today. Both in a good and a bad way, which is strange. I woke up at 2 and felt all bad about missing Friday prayers, took my shower and decided it was time to make the trip to Mansoura — turns out I hate driving in the dark.
Anyways, on my way I noticed a motorcycle passing by me (using the right far-most lane), and judging by the motorcycle’s state (and model) I could tell the driver was going at full speed. He was wearing his helmet and a glow-in-the-dark vest with EgyptAir’s logo on the back (hence being relatively cautious.) All I could think of was whether or not he’ll make it on time. Some way along the road I had lost him, and besides, usually nobody keeps up with me when driving.
Later on we find the road all crowded and suddenly the vehicles are hardly moving — typical when there’s been a relatively fatal accident. When my turn has come to pass by the actual accident I was absolutely shocked to find that same motorcycle driver spread out on his back, his motorcycle on its side next to him, and LOTS of people around him. Some were trying to talk to him, others were trying to make emergency phone calls. Others I presume were there just to know what happened and talk about it — we can be curious (and social) at times, too much it makes us seem ridiculous.
Future plans.
How much will his future plans change due to that accident? Is it worth planning at all if you can simply get involved in a totally random accident and burst all those bubbles? If there’s one thing that this whole scenario has taught me it would be that we should live this SECOND as if it were our last, because one of those seconds it will be.
