WordPress 2.5

About time I write something useful for a change, o.O’

WP 2.5 seems to be almost out for public use - it’s currently a release candidate available for testing purposes only (that means you shouldn’t be using it on a live website yet).

Anyway, what grabbed my attention most is the amount of development/upgrades that were done on this version. I’m not really a big fan of how wordpress is coded but apparently what matters to most people is the output - and this version, man does it stress on the output’s eye-candy! I haven’t seen it running live yet but from the sneak peek snapshots I’m guessing there’s going to be a fuss when it’s officially released.

What matters most (or what is worth noting) is that wordpress is one of the most widely used open source applications ever, and is by far one of the most successful ones out there (if not the most), and regardless of that, the developer is still working on the application constantly - and with the amount of changes I read about, he did a lot of work this time round.

I know all us developers should have the same attitude, but this much work is just - boring! Perhaps it’s because I’ve never been put in his shoes I say that, meh.

Anyway, I’ll wait a little bit before upgrading to that version - until 2.5.2/3 I’d say.

As for me, I’ve redesigned the top banner, and tweaked my pages a little to allow for comments to be made to specific pages. Accordingly, I created a guestbook for my guests to sign - you can find it here; please sign it =)
