Enemies – GUCers.com
What’s up with the enemies all of a sudden?
I come back last night only to find a friend sending me an email telling me watch your back some people want to take GUCers down. And the threat notes. Are some people really that desperate? A moron sent me a message like a week ago telling me you will have to say good bye soon – as if he’s going to take GUCers down real soon. Another idiot posted to my Guestbook telling me ddos attacks. WTF?
The only people that interact with GUCers at all are people from the GUC. Assuming they are, why would they want GUCers down? The ONLY point GUCers is there is so that EVERYONE can benefit – basically, THEM. I only set-up the whole thing because I felt people needed a reliable website to get the files they need from home – that’s why it all started the first place aslan. I coded theIntranet taking into consideration two things – easiness of use so that everybody would be able to browse it and download from it as quickly as possible, and easiness of contributing so that everybody would upload files on their own easily without anyone having to explain anything. How on earth did such an idea find its way to enemies?
Technically speaking, taking GUCers down won’t harm anyone. Not even us. The application files I still have, the database structure I still have, so even if the files were gone on one day that won’t matter because the value of any file lasts for like one week, after that nobody downloads it again – so we would only have to upload the latest updated files which are like 5-15 files. Basically, 5-10 minutes of work. The rest of the files could be uploaded when somebody requests them on the board – so on the contrary, that would help us by returning some more activity to our forums.
Nevertheless, I still have to admit, I didn’t see this one coming.
